History museum
This week in Maths, the children have been consolidating their knowledge of 3D shapes and their properties. They also begun looking at division in the form of ‘sharing’. They grasped the concept really quickly and are ready to learn more about it next week! The Years 1/2 children have been writing rhyming couplets in their English lessons and are becoming much more capable of thinking of funny rhyming sentences by themselves. In Phonics the children started to write two-syllable words using our consonant blends and clusters. This was a new challenge and one that we will continue to look at next week. The children are becoming much more capable of reading our phase 4 tricky words and we have also been writing the days of the week. The older children began the week researching different venues for our end of year trip. They worked really hard to narrow it down to just a few options for us all to consider. A big thank you from all of us for their efforts! During the week, we had our trip to the History Museum to learn about the evolution of inventions throughout the 20th century, it was very interesting and all the children and adults enjoyed it very much. And to finish the week off, we put our creative hats on to make very inventive Fathers' Day cards before engaging in a gruelling fitness exercise before hometime.
