Peach jam

Today when all of the children arrived we made peach jam! All of the peaches were handpicked from the vegetable patch in our garden. First we all peeled the peaches and then we showed the children how to weigh them. Next we put them into the pan to cook and the children enjoyed putting in lots and lots of sugar. Then we asked the children to write their names on a label and decorate it, so they were able to take home a pot of jam each.

For the rest of the day, we went to the vegetable patches and picked lots of organic vegetables, like tomatoes, aubergines, courgettes and peppers. The children also filled up the watering cans and enjoyed watering different kinds of fruit and vegetables, as it was a very hot day!

Then the children went into the swimming pool and paddling pool, and enjoyed playing ball games. They also enjoyed interacting with the chicks and handling them, as well as other animals! Before they went home, many of the children enjoyed listening to the piano being played, as well as having a go themselves.
