Project presentations

Early years We've had a great week! We've been looking at the changes in the season! We have been exploring the outside world and learning about what happens in nature when Autumn comes. We have done some art projects using raw materials and have been reading stories about windy Autumn days and what fun we can have playing with the leaves! We are also very excited to perform our song about 'Five Little Ducks’ tomorrow at our first monthly Project Presentation. Year 1 &2 It’s been a busy week! We’ve continued looking at addition and subtraction in Maths, consolidating our counting and number bond knowledge. In Literacy we’ve been looking at a story called Dogger by Shirley Hughes and of cours

Raptor of cims; birds of prey

Last Tuesday, Year 1 and 2 were so lucky to see eagles, owls, buzzards and other birds of prey up close and also watch them fly. We were lucky to be the only group visiting that day, so we had the whole park to ourselves. We saw birds of prey flying and being fed. The owls flew so silently and at the end all the birds followed Blanca back into their cages. Some of them flew so close that their wings touched us as they went past. It was amazing! After the trip we wrote about our trip for the school magazine, so you can find out some more about it there.

Exploring feelings and emotions

WHAT WE DID SO FAR LAST WEEK Early years Hello everyone! We have had a wonderful week learning about our feelings in 'Personal, Social and Emotional Development’. We have been exploring different feelings - as well as why and when we might feel them. We have also enjoyed watching our plants grow and taking care of them. In Literacy, we have been recognising and writing letters. In Numeracy, Shape and Space, we have been working hard on pattern-making and discovering shapes in English. Don't forget bring something something special for Show and Tell on Monday! Year 1 &2 The most exciting part of our week was our trip to the Cim d’Àligues, where we saw birds of prey flying and being fed. We we

Planting our new vegetable garden

In Early Years we have been working hard on our fine motor skills with line control and cutting activities. We listened about the tortoise story for emotional intelligence and we have been developing our life skills in role play and outdoor activities. We have been planting and watering everyday and have enjoyed free-painting and balancing skills in PE in the garden. In Year 1 & 2 we have been looking at stories by Judith Kerr, in particularly The Tiger Who Came to Tea. On Wednesday we enjoyed planting cauliflower, lettuce and parsely. We measured our plants at the tallest point using CM rulers. Next week we will check if they have grown at all - if it doesn’t rain much we must remember to

Welcome back to school

This first week in Early years we have really enjoyed our first week at school! We have got to know our new classroom and new people. We have Jennifer, Natasha and now Betty to help us too! We are the Ants class and this has been our topic. We have also been learning our daily routines and finding out what we can do through different activities inside and outside the classroom. We have been to the library and also to the Sports Centre. In year 1 and year 2 we’ve had a fun week back, meeting our new teachers and new class members. We’ve done yoga, zumba, painting and we’ve been finding out about birds, particularly owls. On Monday, we are looking forwards to coming in and bringing two specia
