This week in Maths, the children have been consolidating their knowledge of 3D shapes and their properties. They also begun looking at division in the form of ‘sharing’. They grasped the concept really quickly and are ready to learn more about it next week!
The Years 1/2 children have been writing rhyming couplets in their English lessons and are becoming much more capable of thinking of funny rhyming sentences by themselves.

This week in Phonics, we have been consolidating our understanding of consonant blends and clusters. We will begin looking at clusters such as str and thr next week. We have also been reading and writing sentences including the sounds that we have been learning.

During the week, we braved the cold weather to make snowmen on the playground.
We all had lots of fun on our trip to the Maritime Museum earlier in the week. This included a virtual underwater tour where we were able to demonstrate all our knowledge of sea turtles, octopi and jelly fish!
